Gilling West Fly Fishers
Protecting Gilling Beck
Every angler can help reduce the risk of unwanted plants, animals and diseases being transferred between waters.
Invasive non-native species can damage river habitats and may be moved accidentally between waters on wet nets, boots, waders and other fishing equipment.
GWFF asks all anglers to follow the Check, Clean, Dry approach whenever equipment has been used on another water.
Inspect clothing and equipment and remove mud, plants or animals before leaving the water.
Clean all equipment thoroughly as soon as possible after use.
Allow equipment to dry completely before using it on another water.
If you see a suspected invasive species on Gilling Beck, make a note of the location and inform Club Admin.
